Located on the shoulder of Mt. Rainier, the new St. Elizabeth Hospital manifests a commitment to community through a sensitively and sustainably designed environment of care. Clinical spaces are efficiently located at the center of the facility, with public spaces wrapping the building perimeter to capture daylight and views.
A light-filled gallery runs the length of the hospital and opens onto a healing garden, reinforcing connection to the surrounding community and natural environment. The replacement facility delivers increased clinical capacity and technological capabilities to serve the burgeoning local population today, as well as clear pathways for expansion in the future. Together with extensive sustainable design strategies, this rigorous design approach provides a strong foundation for health and healing in Enumclaw for years to come.
